Climate change resulting from increased pollution levels generates a growing concern in the actual society. Aware of this situation, in 2022 Gastrade started a study on Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions resulting from its industrial activity of manufacturing injected and HDPE fittings. The aforementioned study concluded that the reduced energy consumption from the processing of raw materials to the final product, combined with the low weight per linear meter of network, gives to our Gfit PE100 fittings e a very low carbon footprint compared to other raw materials used for the same purpose as steel or ductile iron.

In addition, plastic pipe systems, besides being sustainable, are also safe, extremely durable and ensure maximum protection against contamination during their service life. Added to these characteristics is the fact that the recyclability rate of the polyethylene is 100% so it does not generate any waste for the environment after it`s life in service.

Committed to the continuous reduction of its carbon footprint, Gastrade will disclose annually, in the Customer Area, the data related to CO2 emissions.
